Harbor Medical Group prefers to admit their patients to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Illinois Masonic is a 551-bed hospital with a Level I trauma center and Level III perinatal and obstetric center, the highest designations awarded by the State of Illinois. Illinois Masonic features a comprehensive inpatient hospital, including medical, surgical, obstetrics and pediatric inpatient care services; a cardiology program that includes open-heart surgery; and outpatient services. Illinois Masonic is located at 836 W. Wellington in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
Most importantly one of the physicians of Harbor Medical Group will be personally involved in your care and treatment plan and will visit you daily while you are in the hospital. We believe that this continuity of care will improve your care and allow more personalized treatment options.
Since 2004 Northwestern Memorial Hospital patients admitted to the hospital are assigned either to the teaching service or hospitalist service and are not cared for by your primary care physician. If you are admitted to Northwestern, the inpatient doctors will care for you and you can still see us in the office for follow up.
We no longer admit patients to Michael Reese Hospital.
If you have a life-threatening emergency you should call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. You should also contact us once you are stabilized at the other hospital, as you may be able to be transferred to our care at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
